Teambuilding in Mazeikiu Nafta Trading House
Mazeikiu Nafta is an integrated downstream oil company that is comprised of complex pipeline operations, oil refining, marine terminal operations, and logistics of crude oil and refined products. Its daughter company Mazeikiu Nafta Trading House employs 18 people, and its annual income is over 1 billion zl.
According to CEO of Mazeikiu Nafta Trading House, Mr Włodzimierz Olbrycht, the reason for the company’s success and effectiveness is great employees and synergy that stems from teamwork and good relations among people.
To achieve this success, consultants from Time for team, have offered to conduct team workshops with usage of the Extended DISC tools. The first step in this project was filling out the Personal Analysis by employees, which main purpose is to give information that helps in the understanding of oneself and others.
All employees received individual reports with the results concerning their natural predispositions and talents
On the basis of the results from the individual analysis, an Extended DISC Team Analysis, a report describing the team, was prepared, which became the foundation for the workshops.
During the works hops, team members became acquainted with the Extended Disc model, and the possibilities of practical applications to everyday work. All participants tried to answer individual questions such as: ‘How do we regard each other’s behavior?, What are the team’s strengths and weaknesses? What motivates us?, What behaviors are we lacking?’. The workshops became an opportunity to expand knowledge regarding the situation within the team and also the stand point of its members. The workshops were strengthened by several activities as well as team games in the terrain.
Three weeks after the works hops, the consultants met with All the Staff of MNTH once again to provide individual consultations related to the results of the analysis. Additional segments of the report were individualized under the perspective of the position of the given Staff member.
In the opinion of the CEO as well as the employees, the works hops fulfilled expectations, provoked much thought regarding the team and its functions, In which ways effective team communication can be improved, cooperation, and the usage of their individual traits and natural talents.
The firm’s president summarized the workshops with the following statement: „The foundation of our team has been strengthened.”
